The project’s aim to transform science into something personal, relatable and identity affirming is supported by an instructional team at the PLACE lab that reflects a spectrum of gender identities and cultural backgrounds, fostering a learning environment where students can see science as a space where they belong.
This project, including the grant proposal, was created by Malini Muthu Karpagam, a post doc at the PLACE Lab. Many members of the lab assisted in the creation of lesson plans, and went to Girls Inc to teach classes in Phase I, including
